I worked for The State of Michigan for over 28 years working with the public. I have worked with families, single individuals, children, and older adults. I have done home calls to help families to reunite and seniors in providing help which was needed and for them to become more self-independent. I have worked with bi-polar individuals to help them obtain medical assistance. I was a case worker with a case load of 400-700 cases, so I was responsible for the welfare of everyone on my case load and much, much more. One of the field placement I was assigned to last year required visits to nursing homes. One of my jobs were to obtain permanent positive housing for older adults and make sure the home is safe for them to get in and out of the tub/shower, and/or wheelchair accessible. Another one of my jobs were to help low income disable people to have their car or van equip with devices to help them to drive, and get in and out of their vehicle. I have also helped and worked with young adults from the ages of 16-21 to prepare them for their GED.
